kashmir was a dream

Hi there!

Two months ago, during May, I went on a vacation to Kashmir, India. My family and I travelled there with our family friends and it was such a dream <3. Every view, every stream, every piece of snow, was the most mesmerizing of it's kind. I made the dreamiest and happiest memories there. Today, I'll be sharing some of the small moments I experienced there. It's gonna be a little compilation of the good times.

1. cold & chill, hot & warm: Gulmarg, Kashmir

It was a little over lunch time and we hadn't had our lunch yet. We had just come back to our hotel from skiing and icing in the snow. I was exhausted but in a good way. All of us chose to have our lunch in a little dhaba near our hotel. It mainly had maggi so that's what we all had. It was a chilly day. We were tucked into three, maybe four layers of clothing and the views were calm. From where I was sitting, I could see tall trees and soft grass and vast meadows. Hot maggi was being served in small paper plates. We were all sitting around a table outside, and we were laughing, talking. The heat of the maggi in my mouth was comforting my more or less frozen body. I was sitting, sipping on my coffee and peacefully eating my maggi, with the company of some of my favourite people ever, there with me.

2. feminist talks: The Kabo, Srinagar, Kashmir

It was night and we were all exhausted from our itinerary that day. We came back to the hotel around eight, had our dinner, and now it was time to ~sleep~. I was sharing a room with my sister, and two of my friends. It was the girls' room so obviously we wouldn't go to bed without talking first. We were sitting in a circle on the bed, cozied up, and talking. We discovered all four of us had similar feminist views and so, that's what we were talking about the whole time. We talked of stories, ideas, what-ifs and so much more. Intensely wanting to share what we've been holding in & empowering each other with our views. We felt connected on a whole new level.

3. flowers in a pocket: Betaab Valley, Pahalgam, Kashmir

We were visiting the Betaab Valley in Pahalgam. The views were unimaginably beautiful. Most of my friends decided to do some horse riding there, and I stayed behind. I wanted to take in what's around through walk. I was accompanied by my mom and her friend. I was dilly-dallying around on my own; spotting little wild flowers I didn't know the names of, and cruelly plucking them. One by one, I kept them in my pocket, with its heads peeking out, as if it looked prettier there. I was so hardly trying to arrange them in my pocket so it looked ~aesthetic~. Long story short, the flowers got ruined and all droopy before I reached the hotel and could take pictures. Moral of the story, don't pluck flowers. LEAVE THEM BE.

4. wind in my hair: Sonmarg, Kashmir

We took a little one day trip to Sonmarg. As always, the views made me feel like I was in a different world. We were on our way there and the roads were broad. The car ride was over two hours and I remember just looking out the window to the tall pine trees, calm streams and fog in the air. My friends and I were making pointless but good conversation. The windows were pulled down and the wind was blowing at my hair. It would've been my main character moment but my curly hair didn't like that as usual. Still, I tried to seize the moment the best I could. It was me, the wind and old Indian music (with my friends shouting the background).

That's what I have for today! This post covers only 1% of the whole trip but I wanted to shine light on the little, "insignificant" moments because they made the best part <3.

Comment down below if you want a Part-2! (Also the pictures are not mine; I got them from the internet.)
